X-ray structural analysis

A comprehensive examination and characterisation of promising drug molecules, small molecules or biologicals (antibodies) requires a molecular understanding of the direct interactions and interdependencies of these drug molecules at their target sites in the target protein. As a result, mechanisms can be understood and the foundation can be laid for the further development and optimisation of these drugs.

The structural elucidation using X-ray crystallography provides this possibility since a three-dimensional image of the drug molecules bound to their target site can be directly obtained.

The X-ray structural analysis laboratory offers comprehensive processing of projects from the production of suitable protein structures for crystallisation to protein structure solutions. Concurrently, the structure of small drug molecules can be elucidated directly with the help of X-ray crystallography.
