This project aims to establish a marketing and innovation strategy for the “Assessment test laboratory for medical products” (ASSESS-MED) developed by the institute. In addition to incoming market and portfolio analyses, this also includes establishing the right approach to customers and competitors on the market. The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will now provide funding of EUR 150,000 over the next two years to help implement the concept.

The ASSESS-MED test laboratory is specifically designed to comply with the approval provisions for dialysis machines and offers standardised, industry-oriented product testing for manufacturers of medical blood purification products so as to support the faster introduction of new technologies to the market. The laboratory carries out manufacturer-independent testing of blood purification products, such as dialysis machines, haemofilters and adsorbers, and complies with the specific product standards for medical products, such as DIN EN ISO 8637-1.

The competition for the healthcare industry has been organised by the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Ministry for Economic Affairs, Tourism and Labour since 2008. This competition focusses on trendsetting and innovative ideas for services, processes and projects for the healthcare industry which help to develop the industry’s potential through networking, cooperation, marketing, safeguarding human resources and internationalisation and which strengthen the competitiveness and innovative strength of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
