Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZIFocus on Translation and Transfer: Fraunhofer IZI at the “Würzburg Day of Future Medicine” aboard the MS Wissenschaft
From September 8 to 11, the floating science center MS Wissenschaft was moored in Würzburg. Its exhibits included a presentation on CAR T-cell therapy developed by the University of Würzburg, Würzburg University Hospital, and Fraunhofer IZI.
On September 9, local research institutions hosted the “Würzburg Day of Future Medicine” aboard the MS Wissenschaft. The event focused on CAR T-cell research and on further strengthening the region as a research hub. Branch Director Prof. Dr. Michael Hudecek and Institute Director Prof. Dr. Dr. Ulrike Köhl discussed with representatives from politics, research, business, and civil society how research infrastructure, translation, and technology transfer could be further strengthened.
The Vogel Foundation sent a strong signal by providing three million euros in funding for CAR T-cell research at Würzburg University Hospital.
